Devore has a drinking water problem. But the private company that provides water to residents has a plan to fix the issue, it’s telling the state.

Devore is a small, unincorporated community northwest of San Bernardino, near the intersection of the 15, 215 and 210 freeways. Homeowners there are all co-owners of the Devore Water Co. , which pipes water to their homes.

On July 1, the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water issued a citation and compliance order to the water company. The order indicated the company was violating the California Safe Drinking Water Act, specifically that the company was unable to provide enough clean, safe water in an emergency. Regulators ordered the company to come up with a plan of action to address the issue.
