YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Six percent of adults in the U.S.A. are veterans, according to the Census Bureau. That number declines every year, which is why it is important to honor them and their sacrifice. A tribute is planned next week in Youngstown to do just that, and WKBN27 First News Community Affairs Coordinator Dee Crawford sat down with organizers John Howe and Ron Moore to learn more about it.

A free event is being organized in Youngstown to honor veterans, with the aim of feeding 500 veterans on September 13. It's called Saluting Our Heroes Veterans Appreciation Lunch and will run from 1-4 p.m. at Glenwood Grounds, 2906 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown.
