YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Mill Creek MetroParks is celebrating a unique international partnership right on the trails of Youngstown.
On Tuesday, the MetroParks held a special dedication for the East Cohasset Trail, honoring the Youngstown Hiking Society and the Markers Hiking Club from Italy.
The two groups have officially adopted the trail through the park's Adopt-A-Trail Program, committing to regular cleanups and stewardship efforts over the next three years.
"This Adopt-A-Trail for us is huge. We started taking care of the trash over behind the Lilly Pond, and we were going to do that area, but when Chris [Litton] spoke to us about this trail, we were like, 'Yeah, we want to keep this trail clean,' and this is a very busy trail. So, we couldn't be more honored," said Jerry Martinel
