American Airlines has reached a major fleet milestone. The carrier recently welcomed its 1,000th mainline aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which landed at its Dallas/Fort Worth hub on August 29. The aircraft is part of the airline's wider fleet renewal program, which includes dozens of new long-haul jets on order.

It features the newly launched Flagship Suites, which the airline is currently fitting across all its new 787s. The oneworld alliance member already operates these premium Dreamliners on select flights to London Heathrow and on some domestic services to Los Angeles. With the arrival of the 1,000th jet, it plans to expand its premium offering to more international destinations in the months ahead.
