Two Toledo City Council members are in a deadlock over legislation that would repeal a 25-year-old ordinance, specifically impacting South Toledo.
“I don’t go into District 2. Stay out of District 1,” District 1 Councilman John Hobbs III said to District 2 Councilman Adam Martinez.
The two are at odds over legislation formerly introduced by Mr. Martinez that would repeal a zoning ordinance passed by council in 2000.
“I wouldn’t have to get into District 1 if you were responsive,” Mr. Martinez retorted.
At council’s Aug. 12 meeting, Mr. Martinez introduced legislation that would repeal an ordinance passed May 28, 2000.
