Shaquille Mason, a Columbia native and two-time Super Bowl winner, was arrested for domestic assault on August 27 in Franklin after allegedly strangling the mother of his child, according to the Franklin Police Department.

According to an affidavit filed in the Williamson County General Sessions court, police responded to a Clare Park Drive home just after 3 a.m. after Mason allegedly hit the woman in the face.

Police reported that she had a “fresh laceration on her bottom lip” and she told police that she heard 31-year-old Mason “trying to break in” to her home, adding that Mason knew a keycode to the home’s lock and “knew that he was not welcomed inside the residence.”
