LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A suspect is behind bars after a carjacking turned police chase in downtown Louisville.

The reported incident happened just after 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Main Street.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Briylon Tyson, was allegedly armed with a gun and stole an “easily identifiable” work truck, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Officers spotted the vehicle shortly after the carjacking and tried to make traffic stop. That’s when LMPD said Tyson fled, leading officers on a chase through various streets in west Louisville.

The stolen truck eventually got stuck in an alley off Dr W.J. Hodge Street and Tyson got out of the vehicle, fleeing on foot.

Police caught up with Tyson, arresting him after the incident.
