JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Buzzed Wings in downtown Jonesborough announced its ownership, along with event organizers, canceled an ongoing drag brunch event series following alleged online backlash from the public

The "Sya at Brunch" series is hosted by local drag queen and performer Sya Cox O'Hara. It is a private, ticketed event, according to Buzzed Wings owner Myra Cardenas, who's hosted the series at her establishment more than once.

According to O'Hara, the decision to relocate the drag brunch series comes as a measure of safety and concern for staff at Buzzed Wings and for drag performers.

O'Hara also told News Channel 11 in a statement on Tuesday that she and Cardenas ultimately decided to relocate the drag brunch events due to an alleged online boycott of Buzzed Wings.
