The City of Guadalupe has received a $90,000 grant from Chevron to improve traffic safety as the school year gets underway.

Chevron Environmental Management Company made the donation on Aug. 26, and Guadalupe Mayor Ariston Julian received the check during a visit to the Guadalupe Restoration Project managed by the company.

Since 2019, Chevron has provided $540,000 in grants to help fund city projects to improve traffic safety. Over the years, grants have funded crossing guards, repainting crosswalks and student drop-off zones at Mary Buren Elementary School, installing sidewalk and curb ramps, and other pedestrian safety projects.
