The Chicago Bears have named their five captains ahead of the start of the 2025 NFL season.
Head coach Ben Johnson announced the captains during a press availability Tuesday as the Bears prepare for their Week 1 showdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
Two Bears players will be captains for the second consecutive year, as quarterback Caleb Williams and free safety Kevin Byard III were both selected for the honor.
Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is entering his second NFL season and is hoping to see a giant leap forward in Johnson’s offense, with new weapons like Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland and a massively changed offensive line in front of him.
One of those offensive linemen was also named a captain, as Joe Thuney was given a “C” in his first year with
