Contraband, official misconduct, questions about uniform reimbursements, firings, resignations, suspensions, the death of a 74-year-old retired preacher.

It’s been a bumpy year-plus for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

At least 10 employees, mostly in the jail, have been suspended, quit or been fired in recent months.

As of Tuesday, four former employees face prosecution for offenses ranging from contraband slipped into the Justice Center to official misconduct.

And that may not be all of the criminal cases on the horizon for current and former employees.
