SEBRING, Fla. (WFLA) — A Sebring woman was arrested Saturday after sending hundreds of threatening messages to law enforcement and then recording herself driving by the police department, officials said.
Emily Staten, 27, is accused of repeatedly making death threats and other threats of violence against Sebring officers via Facebook messenger.
Police said they began receiving the messages on the evening of Aug. 29. In just four hours, authorities said Staten had sent them nearly 200 posts and messages.
Police said many of her messages were "too vulgar to share," but did release a few of the posts to the public. In one message, Staten threatened to "throw Molotov cocktails" through the police department building if they did not respond to her, according to investigators.
