A plaque now stands where the historic Three Rivers Stadium once stood and represents a moment in history where major league baseball saw its first all minority lineup. It all happened in Pittsburgh.

"Because today, we're gathered to celebrate and honor a moment that 54 years ago proved the power, reach, and impact of Pirates baseball," Pirates president Travis Williams said. Advertisement

On Sept. 1, 1971, the Pirates were taking on the Philadelphia Phillies, and manager Danny Murtaugh was setting his lineup.
