ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — Counselors around the region gathered at Milligan University on Tuesday for the school's third annual Create Conference.
The event focused on research, employment, advocacy, training and education for both school and clinical mental health counselors in the region. It included presentations, a career fair and keynote speaker Colleen Weems.
She said in her speech that there is a greater need for collaboration between school counseling and clinical settings.
The school said those who attended took something away to further their education or their careers. Milligan University Counseling Program Director Rebecca Sapp said the conference came from a discovered "disconnect" in graduate program students' school-clinic dynamic.
