Several dead goats found behind grocery store; public's help needed

A disturbing discovery prompted an investigation after several deceased goats were found behind a grocery store in Chattanooga on Tuesday.

According to the McKamey Animal Center (MAC), animal protection officers responded to a call reporting dead animals in the creek behind the Aldi on Mundy Street. Upon arrival, they discovered five deceased goats in various stages of decomposition.

The cause and timeframe of the animals’ deaths remain unknown. Forensic examinations are expected to be conducted in the coming days to help determine when and how the animals died.

Authorities are now seeking the public's help in identifying who may have owned the goats or who may be responsible for their deaths.
