Homer, N.Y. — A Central New York couple told state police they feared for their lives Friday evening when the driver of a white pickup truck allegedly pointed a handgun at them during a road rage incident on Interstate 81.
Around 6 p.m., the couple — Kristen M. Lambert, 43, of West Monroe, and her boyfriend, Christopher P. Mayka, 26 — said they were driving south to Pennsylvania for work when a white Dodge Ram began driving recklessly, according to statements given to troopers.
The Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office filed an Extreme Risk Protection Order against the driver — Robert James Budd, 26, of Cicero — on Tuesday. The order allows police to seize a person’s firearms and prevents them from buying new ones if they are believed to pose a danger to themselves or others.
