NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans physician is speaking out after discovering dozens of AI-generated videos using his face and voice to sell vitamins he says he’s never endorsed.

Dr. Maurice Sholas, a pediatric rehabilitation specialist, said he first noticed the videos in mid-August when a follower sent him a TikTok clip that looked and seemingly sounded like him — but wasn’t.

“I had never heard of those vitamins in my life… The advice being given is something I would never say in a clinical setting, because that’s not really what I do or the patients I see,” Sholas said.

The videos promoted a vitamin supplement making claims about deficiencies in Black people. Sholas said the advice not only misrepresents his medical practice, but also risks misleading the public.
