JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - In as little as two weeks, Missouri could have a new congressional map.
Missouri lawmakers will start another special session on Wednesday. The call includes redrawing the districts that decide who represents Missourians in the U.S. House of Representatives. Lawmakers are also planning to take up bills on the state’s initiative petition process, which allows citizens to amend the state constitution.
According to schedules shared with Gray Media’s Missouri Capitol Bureau, the special session will start with technical sessions in the Missouri House of Representatives, where bills will just be introduced and sent to committees.
After committees mark up and approve the bills, they’ll be sent back to the House, where debate and votes are expected early next week.
