FERRY COUNTY, Wash. — There is a fire burning south of Ferry County. The Rattlesnake Fire has burned 4,119 acres as of Tuesday night, according to Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Guy Gifford. The fire is 0% contained.
Level 2 (Get Set!) evacuations are in place for the areas along 9 Mile and Hells Gate Road.
No structures are lost at this time.
According to the Northeast Washington Fire Information (NWFI), the Rattlesnake fire is 30 miles south of Inchelium and was caused by lightning. There are 50 personnel on the scene as of Tuesday morning.
NWFI says they are concentrating on putting a containment line around the fire and tackling hot spots. Fire officials want to remind everyone to stay out of the area so crews can do their job to put out the fire as quickly
