ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) - Rocky Mount police say an emu is on the loose.

Yesterday, police said Rocky Mount Animal Services received reports of a loose emu in the North Green area.

Officers are actively patrolling the area and have located the owner of the bird.

Police ask that you do not approach the emu if you see it. Instead, please call the Rocky Mount Police Department’s non-emergency line at 252-972-1411 to report its location.
