Antony has revealed that he rejected a late approach from Bayern Munich before completing his move from Manchester United to Real Betis.

The Brazilian winger was forced to wait until deadline day to complete his return to Betis as the Spanish club agreed a £21.65 million permanent deal with United.

Having struggled at Old Trafford following his £82m arrival from Ajax three years ago, Antony thrived during his loan spell in La Liga in the second half of last season.

In an emotional unveiling in Seville on Tuesday, Antony made it clear that his only intention was to re-join Betis this summer after his impressive loan stint.

And the 25-year-old claims his desire to return to Betis was so strong that he turned down an offer from Bayern in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
