President Donald Trump has dismissed a viral video showing an object being thrown from a White House window as "probably AI-generated" despite officials earlier claiming it was a contractor performing routine maintenance.
Trump told reporters gathered in the Oval Office Tuesday that the video has "got to be a fake" because the White House's bullet-proof windows are sealed shut and very heavy.
His assessment came hours after the White House told Newsweek that it was a contractor doing regular maintenance in the President's absence.
Newsweek has approached the White House for further comment via email outside of regular working hours.
