US Rapper Cardi B has been found not liable in a civil assault and battery case brought against her by Emani Ellis, a former security guard who alleged the star attacked her during a 2018 incident.
Ellis claimed Cardi B hit her, spit on her, hurled racial slurs, and cut her face with a long fingernail injuries she said required plastic surgery. She sought $24 million in damages.
However, after a trial in L.A. County, a unanimous jury ruled in Cardi B’s favor, clearing her of all allegations. The rapper will not be required to pay any damages.
Speaking after the verdict, Cardi B said:
“I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”
