HONOLULU (Island news) -- A weak weather system sitting northwest of Kauai is pulling in some moisture from the southwest, leading to scattered showers — a few possibly heavy — mainly over Kauai and Oahu today and into Tuesday. There's also a band of humid air moving across the area, adding to the chance of rain. But don’t worry — drier weather is on the way.
By Tuesday night, more stable air will move in as the weather system shifts away, and shower activity will start to fade. The rest of the week looks more typical for Hawaii, with moderate trade winds bringing clouds and light showers mainly to windward and mountain areas overnight and in the early morning. Leeward areas will stay mostly dry and sunny during the day.
