Pouring rain and strong winds will hit Cambridgeshire on Wednesday (September 3), as a Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms covers the region. The yellow warning is in force between 11am and 8pm across the whole of the county, alongside other regions in the East of England, the Midlands, and the South East.
The Met Office explains: "Scattered heavy showers, some with thunder, are expected to develop later this morning and into the afternoon, before easing this evening.
"In the most active storms, hail, strong gusty winds, and lightning may be impactful. There is also a chance that a few spots could see frequent, heavy bursts of rain, leading to surface water flooding."
