Emmy-winning comedian Vir Das , who took home the 2023 International Emmy Award for best comedy for his Netflix special “Vir Das: Landing,” is gearing up for a residency at Lincoln Center with his new show “Hey Stranger.”

The residency, presented by LCT3 x Seaview as part of their Comedy Series, marks unprecedented territory for Indian comedy on American stages. “It’s never happened before for someone where I come from, and it’s quite a prestigious room, so I’m worried about writing the show,” Das tells Variety . “Really, all I’m thinking about is the jokes.”
