The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown will host author Lauren Camp on Sept. 8 at 505 Gypsy Lane.

Camp will join via Zoom to talk about her book, “One Hundred Hungers,” which explores the lives of a first-generation Arab-American girl and her Jewish-Iraqi parent. The collection evokes her father’s boyhood growing up in 1940s Baghdad with overlapping stories of food and ritual, immigration and adaptation during a period where tensions were rising along both ethnic and religious lines.

Coffee and dessert will be at 6:30 with the presentation to follow.

The program is free to attend, but attendees must register at least 24 hours in advance by contacting Barb Wilson, director of cultural arts & Jewish engagement, at bwilson@jewishyoungstown.org .
