A new era has begun in downtown Langford with the opening of the John Horgan Campus, a long-anticipated hub for post-secondary education in the West Shore.
The new building at Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue officially welcomed students Sept. 2, uniting learners from Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, the Justice Institute of B.C. and the Sooke School District under one roof.
Named after former B.C. premier John Horgan, who died last year, the campus is both a tribute and a testament to his vision. Horgan was a long-time advocate for expanding access to education in the fast-growing region, and his efforts helped bring the project to fruition.
For students walking through the doors on the first day, the significance wasn’t lost. Royal Roads hospitality
