The Pershing County Sheriff's Office arrested a Southern California man on four counts of sexual assault and rape and one count of burglary on the last day of Burning Man.
Alessandro Boshant, 34, was arrested after a female reported on Sept. 1 that she had been sexually assaulted, Sheriff Jerry Allen said in a news release.
Allen said the victim gave a detailed description of the male suspect. Law enforcement searched Black Rock City and arrested Boshant.
His bail was set at $640,000.
Allen previously told the RGJ that he worries about underreported cases of sexual assault at Burning Man . He said the event presents challenges to investigators as people from all over the world, often in costumes and known only by playa nicknames, congregate in the remote desert.
