Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is facing new calls from Democrats to run for the seat Sen. Mitch McConnell is leaving, including from high-profile donor Christina Lee Brown.
Beshear has said he plans to serve out his term as governor, which ends in 2027. Some supporters believe he should stay the course and run for U.S. president in 2028.
Other Kentucky Democrats believe Beshear is the party's only hope to win the Senate seat and keep it from Republican control.
