The Johnson County district attorney released a report Wednesday, revealing details of a shooting between an officer and suspect in June 2025. No one was hurt in the shooting.

On June 17, the Shawnee Police Department received reports of a vehicle sitting in an intersection around 5 a.m., unmoving despite a citizen’s offer to call law enforcement for the driver.

Traffic cameras showed the driver shooting out the window.

When the first officer arrived, they found the truck unoccupied.
