A 31-year-old man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday night after allegedly shooting a 24-year-old woman in Ewa Beach, leaving her in critical condition, Honolulu police said.
Officers responded at about 8:05 p.m. to a residence on the 5100 block of Iroquois Avenue after reports of an argument between the suspect and victim escalated. Police said the suspect fired multiple rounds at the woman before she was able to flee to safety.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. Police said the suspect retreated to his vehicle, where he was later found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators confirmed the suspect and victim knew each other. The investigation remains ongoing.
