PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that left a man dead on Wednesday morning, Sept. 3.
Officials identified the victim as Kade Dupree, 29.
According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office (IPSO), the victim’s body was found around 7 a.m. on Highway 75 in Plaquemine just below Jack Miller Landing.
The sheriff said the victim was hit while walking.
Authorities began checking cameras, and they found the vehicle used in the hit-and-run crash located at Shintech, a nearby plant, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials said they are in the process of making an arrest.
The Louisiana State Police is leading the investigation, and IPSO is helping.
