COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - A Goose Creek man is facing a charge in connection with child sexual abuse material.

Marcus Phillip Jones, 37, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led them to Jones.

Investigators of the Attorney General’s Office stated that Jones distributed files of child sexual abuse material, according to Attorney General’s Office spokesperson Robert Kittle.

The Task Force and the Goose Creek Police Department assisted in the arrest of Jones on Thursday. He will face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

This case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
