LANSING — A Chase man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor relative in 2024, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced.

Per a Sept. 3 news release from the AG’s office, Jody Lee Brocker, 55, was sentenced Monday to 150 months to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in July to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was charged by the Lake County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

“I am grateful that my office was able to assist the Lake County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to secure justice for the victim in this case,” Nessel said. She noted that her office has supported local prosecutors during vacancies, providing appellate services to 50 counties and handling cases across the state upon request.
