Walt Disney World’s most iconic landmark is getting a Fairy Godmother-like transformation.

Cinderella’s Castle has stood at the center of the Orlando, Florida, theme park for over 50 years and has become an iconic symbol.

During Disney’s Destination D23 fan event on Aug. 31, officials revealed that a new color palette will be coming to the castle — and fans have mixed reactions. 4

Imagineers held a panel called “ Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles ,” where they discussed the different color schemes and overlays that have graced the beloved castle since it started welcoming guests down Main Street, USA at Magic Kingdom.

The castle currently features a base with pale gray walls and a light pink higher up, while the roofs are blue and the topmost turret is gold.
