A Phillipsburg area man allegedly assaulted another person, threatened them with a gun and then surrendered after a six-hour standoff with police.
Ian M. Walker, 50, is charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; third-degree making terroristic threats; third-degree certain persons not to possess a weapon and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Walker was taken to the Warren County jail and currently is awaiting his first appearance in Warren County Superior Court in Belvidere.
The incident unfolded about 4:45 a.m. Friday when Pohatcong Township police were called to a Manor Road home by the victim. Walker and the victim knew each other prior to the alleged assault, authorities said.
