More isolated storms return this afternoon across southern parts of New Mexico. Heavy rain will be possible out of a few of these storms. The chance for isolated storms will move back into western and northern New Mexico Thursday.

Remnants from what is currently a category 1 Hurricane, Lorena in the eastern Pacific Ocean will move into New Mexico starting Friday. This will combine with a backdoor cold front moving in from the northeast, also increasing moisture across the state. The two will cause widespread showers and thunderstorms Friday and Saturday for almost all of New Mexico. Storms could drop heavy rainfall, bringing a flash flooding risk both on and off burn scar areas.
