CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Charlotte mother has been charged with murder after her nine-month-old baby overdosed on fentanyl, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Monday, July 7, officers responded to an apartment on the 300 block of Orchard Trace Lane about a call to assist Medic. When they arrived, they found the infant unresponsive. They were taken to a local medical center where they later died, officials said.

Just over one month later, on August 11, detectives were informed that the child died from fentanyl toxicity. On Tuesday, September 2, CMPD arrested the victim's mother, 35-year-old Hallie Ingram.

She was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $600,000 bond for murder and felony child abuse.
