The Ottawa Senators have returned to red.

The Senators finally unveiled their much-anticipated third jersey on Wednesday during Media Day at the Canadian Tire Centre and fans are pleased by the club’s new look.

The red-themed hockey sweater also has gold and black trim.

There is a logo with the Peace Tower on the back.

“Our priority on the jersey was that we wanted to be primarily red and gold,” Senators chief executive officer and president Cyril Leeder said. “We wanted it to be distinctive.

“It’s not a copy of somebody else’s and we’re saying this is our third jersey. It’s distinctive. As a bonus, there are a few Easter eggs on the jersey, with Ottawa stylized with the Peace Tower and the Canadian flag on the back.
