WILLIAMSTON, Mich. (WILX) - Christopher Palazzolo, 44, of Williamston, was sentenced to 40-80 years in prison by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina on Wednesday after being convicted of domestic abuse and torture of his wife, Elise Palazzolo.

Palazzolo was charged in 2022 with domestic violence and torture related to injuries Elise suffered before her death in May 2021.

Although Elise died from a drug overdose, Palazzolo admitted to causing the physical injuries found on her body.

During the investigation, Palazzolo pointed to a ‘waiver consent form’ that he claimed allowed him to physically discipline Elise for lying, allegedly at her own request.

The document listed punishments including cutting with a knife, choking, and spanking with a wooden spoon or wire hanger.
