TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. — Town of Lloyd police chased and then apprehended a man in town after stealing a car that was deliberately stopped by a fallen tree in Highland, police said..

The chase ended in the town of Ulster at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to a press release from Lloyd police.

Carlos D. Diaz, 27, who is homeless, is charged with the felonies of robbery and grand larceny, and the misdemeanor of menacing. He was sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50.000 bail.

At about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, a woman driving on Oak Crest Drive in Highland stopped after Diaz allegedly deliberately blocked the road with a fallen tree.
