Before Roo was rescued, life on the streets was nothing short of exhausting.

Each day was a struggle for survival, never knowing where she’d end up next. With no safe place to sleep, her skin condition worsened until she developed severe mange, leaving her coat patchy and scabby.

Despite everything, Roo kept pushing forward. Her luck finally turned when rescuers in North Carolina spotted her and brought her to safety at a local shelter.

A Foster Mom Steps In

When Veronica first heard Roo’s story, she knew instantly she wanted to help. She headed to the North Carolina shelter and offered to foster this sweet Pittie.

Almost immediately, Veronica noticed that Roo was different. She often crawled close to the ground , as though too timid to walk normally.
