Will County helps return 1968 cold case victim Martha Bassett to her family in Washington

More than five decades after her tragic death, the remains of Martha Bassett, a victim in a 1968 cold case, will be escorted by the Will County Coroner’s Office and her family on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, to Midway Airport for transport to Washington State, where she will finally be laid to rest.
