HILLSBORO, Ohio (Aug. 28, 2025) – A Hillsboro resident is celebrating a life-changing win after hitting the top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $5 scratch-off game Joker’s Wild .

Bradley, whose last name was not released, revealed he initially thought his ticket was only worth a few dollars.

“I assumed it was a $5 or $10 winner,” he said. “But when I kept scratching and saw all the zeros, I realized it was much bigger.”

The ticket turned out to be worth the game’s $100,000 top prize . After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28%, Bradley will take home $72,000 .

This is Bradley’s largest win to date, though he’s no stranger to lottery luck — he has previously won three prizes of $1,000 on $20 and $50 scratch-off tickets.
