The New York Mets were among the most aggressive teams at the MLB trade deadline.
The biggest move of all was acquiring St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley. The addition of Helsley to a bullpen that already included elite closer Edwin Diaz seemed like an excellent move at the time.
Things have not gone smoothly at all, though, for Helsley and he's looked like one of the worst moves made by any team.
Helsley appeared in Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers, and it was yet another rough outing in a Mets uniform. He lasted just 2/3 of an inning, allowing three hits, three runs, one walk and a home run.
Helsley entered the game with New York trailing just 3-2 and when he exited, it trailed 6-2. It was the second time in the series that Helsley failed to go a full inning in a r
