Indeed, the actor shared that he's had to put in hard work to gain and lose weight for a variety of roles—most recently an intense weight loss for his upcoming film Roofman . And for the 45-year-old, the extreme physical changes have taken a toll on his mental health.

“I had only planned to get down to 185. And then, just once, I was already going, and just the days of shooting, it kept coming off, and I got down to like 172,” he said in an interview with Variety published Sept. 2, noting that when assistant director Mariela Comitini voiced her concern on set, he had an epiphany: "I was like, 'I think you’re right. This is weird.'"
