KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A trial is underway for a 15-year-old facing first-degree murder charges in Kanawha County.

On Wednesday, Kanawha County Circuit Judge Maryclaire Akers selected a 14-person jury for the trial of Barack Williams-- that includes 12 jurors and two alternates.

Williams, 15, is accused of killing Caden Martin in a tobacco shop last year in North Charleston.

Despite his age, Williams will be tried as an adult.

Opening statements are set to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday.
