OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A metro woman is recovering from a serious car crash after being hit by an alleged drunk driver who is still in jail.
The alleged victim wants a bond that will keep the suspect there until trial.
Near 36th and Chandler Avenue in Bellevue, the day before the 4th of July, Laural Vogel said an allegedly drunk driver took her independence in a crash that broke her leg and totaled her car.
“Witnesses said he was coming that way and going west, and he blew the stop sign,” she said.
That other driver, 41-year-old Troy Brumbaugh, faces 10 charges, including third offense DUI, and he’s in Sarpy County jail on a $25,000 bond, so he needs $2,500 in cash to be released.
Laural doesn’t want Brumbaugh out because he didn’t stay after the crash, she said.
