LIPSCOMB, Ala. —
A confrontation between police and a group of people outside a home in Lipscomb last week led to the arrest of three young women aged 14, 18, and 19, and has prompted legal action and an investigation.
The family involved has hired attorney Johnathan Austin to represent them. Austin questioned the police's presence at the house and their decision to escalate the situation, which he described as calm, allegedly violating his clients' civil rights. "Why were they here at this house in the first place?" Austin said. "Two, why did the officers choose to escalate that was clearly calm and violate my client's civil rights?"
